HUBUNGAN GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN DENGAN MOTIVASI KERJA PEGAWAI DI PUSKESMAS GAMPING I SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA

Background: Leadership style is a process to move others by leading, guiding and influencing others to do something in order to achieve the expected results. Work motivation is a factor that encourages someone to do a certain activity, therefore motivation can be interpreted as a factor driving a person's behavior. The head of the Gamping I Public Health Center Sleman, in his leadership showed a good attitude towards his employees. The head of the Public Health Center also communicates well with his employees and always involves employee participation in decision making.

Purpose: This research aims to determine the relationship between leadership style and employee work motivation at the Gamping I Public Health Center Sleman, Yogyakarta.

Research methods: This research was conducted at Gamping I Public Health Center Sleman. This type of research used quantitative methods with a cross sectional approach. The sample was taken by total sampling method with a total sample of 52 respondents. The data analysis used spearman rank correlations test.

Results: The leadership style of the Head of the Gamping I Public Health Center in Sleman is in the good category of 93.8%. The work motivation of employees at the Gamping I Public Health Center in Sleman is in the good category of 97.9%. The results of the bivariate analysis using the Spearman rank correlations test showed that there was a strong relationship between leadership style and work motivation of employees at the Gamping I Public Health Center Sleman with a Sig. (2-tailed) value obtained at 0.000 and a correlation coefficient value of 0.696.

Conclusions: There is a relationship between leadership style and work motivation of employees at the Gamping I Public Health Center Sleman, Yogyakarta.
