HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG CARA MENYUSUI DENGAN PERILAKU MENYUSUI IBU POST PARTUM DI RSU ASRI PURWAKARTA

Background: Mother's milk (ASI) is food consumed by infants in the form of a white biological liquid produced by the mother's breast glands that is obtained by the baby through the breastfeeding process.

Research purposes: Identify the relationship between mother's knowledge about how to breastfeed with breastfeeding behavior in postpartum mothers.

Method: This type of research is quantitative using an analytical survey method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were post partum mothers at RSU Asri Purwakarta. The sampling technique in this study was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The total population in this study were 60 respondents. The data collection tool used a questionnaire containing 20 questions about the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers, an observation sheet on breastfeeding behavior that referred to 8 breastfeeding items and data analysis using the Spearman rank test using SPSS version 22.

Research result: The results of this study indicate that knowledge of breastfeeding with breastfeeding behavior has a significant value in the results (p = 0.000 <0.05). And the correlation coefficient value of 0.558 indicates that the relationship between knowledge and behavior is included in the category of Strong Correlation because it is in the interval > 0.5 – 0.75 at RSU Asri Purwakarta.

Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and behavior at RSU Asri Purwakarta.
