PENGARUH FIELD MASSAGE SEBAGAI KOMPLEMENTER TERAPI TERHADAP KADAR BILIRUBIN SERUM BAYI HIPERBILIRUBINEMIA DI RUANG PERINATAL RSUD SLEMAN

Background: Hyperbilirubinemia is the common complication that occurs in neonatal period. Therapeutic Complementary is needed since phototherapy as a standard procedure for hiperbilirubinemia in hospital is often give side effects.Field massage is an complementary therapy might increases the excretion of infant bilirubin serum in procedure ofphototherapy. However, previous research used field massage noticed that decreased levels of bilirubin. Objective: to determine effect of field massage as complementary to level of bilirubin serum in neonatal with phototherapy in Perinatal ward Sleman Distric Hospital. Methods: The research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research. The research design used Total sampling with non equivalent pre test-post test design. The sample was recruited by consecutive sampling of 17 respondents in intervention group and 17 respondents in control group. Data were analyzed by using Paired T-Test, Independent T-Test, and Analysis Covarians (ANCOVA). Result: Results showed that the mean serum bilirubin level after intervention in intervention group showed (9,48±2,87), while the control group were about (6,40±2,32). Decreasing mean serum bilirubin level after intervention in the intervention group (6,46±1,86) and the control group (8,32±8,3) between two groups showed that there had significant decrease (p=0.003). Contribution of confounding variables did not affect to the decreased mean serum bilirubin level with significant (P=0,087).
