HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN TENTANG HIPERTENSI DENGAN KEJADIAN HIPERTENSI PADA LANSIA DI PUSKESMAS SEYEGAN KABUPATEN SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA

Background: Hypertension is one of the chronic diseases that have increased every year. The world's highest hypertension prevelency in Africa is 40%, southeast Asia area of 36% and the lowest prevelency in the Amarika region by 35%. The Asian region of the disease has killed 1.5 million people per year.In Indonesia itself is high enough to reach 32% of the total population of Indonesia. Research purposes: Know the awareness levels in the hypertension hypertension on elderly at community seyegan, Sleman Yogyakarta Special Region. Research methodology: This research quantitative analytic, with the design cross sectional. Population this research is 320 responsen elderly, technique the sample collection is purposive sampling as many as 76 people who. Test the analysis used is spearmen rank. Results: Test spearman rank correlation between the level of knowledge of hypertension in the hypertension on the elderly obtained sig namely 0,864 > 0,05 which showed that there was no connection significant. The Conclusion: No relation level of knowledge about hypertension with the incident hypertension in the elderly at Puskesmas Seyegan Yogyakarta
