PENGARUH EDUKASI PHBS TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN PERSONAL HYGIENE DALAM UPAYA PENCEGAHAN PENYAKIT KULIT PADA ANAK DIDIK PEMASYARAKATAN DI LEMBAGA PEMBINAAN KHUSUS ANAK KELAS II YOGYAKARTA

Background: The degree of health is influenced by 4 (four) kinds of factors, namely environment, behavior, health services, and heredity. Environmental and behavioral factors are the biggest factors that affect the level of health. Lack of personal hygiene and decreased immune system can cause bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites to easily enter the body and cause disease. Skin disease is a disease that is often found in society which is influenced by environmental factors and behavior or a person's personal hygiene. Based on a preliminary survey conducted in December 2021 at LPKA Kelas II Yogyakarta, obtaining data from nurses at LPKA and interviews with correctional students in the last year, on average, almost all students often suffer from skin diseases, this can be seen from the room environment. occupancy that is less clean and untidy.

Purpose : Knowing the effect of PHBS Education on knowledge and personal hygiene as an effort to prevent skin diseases in correctional students in LPKA Class II Yogyakarta.

Research methods : The type of research used is experimental with a research design of One Group Pre Test – Post Test Design with saturated sampling method.

Results : The results showed an increase in the level of knowledge of PHBS and personal hygiene in correctional students after being given PHBS education to 100% with the "Good" category.

Conclusions : The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of PHBS Education on PHBS knowledge and personal hygiene in Correctional Students in LPKA Kelas II Yogyakarta with differences in the results of the knowledge value and personal hygiene level of respondents (Penitentiary Students) before education and after PHBS education in LPKA Kelas II Yogyakarta statistically (Wilcoxon test), the resulting P-value of 0.000.
