FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN STRESS PADA NARAPIDANA TINDAK PIDANA UMUM DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN KELAS IIA WIROGUNAN YOGYAKARTA

Background: living life in prison is a psychological change for an inmate, the pressure experienced causes prisoners to easily experience stress. Stress is an adaptive response to a person's mental condition so that it affects a person's physical, psychological, and behavioral changes.

Objetive: the purpose of this study was to determine what factors are associated with stress levels in prisoners while in prison.

Methods: This type of research is an analytic observational quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study were general criminal case convicts who were serving a sentence of 1 to 5 years in class IIA Wirogunan Yogyakarta as many as 127 respondents using total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test.

Results: The results of the Spearman Rank correlation test showed that family social support got results (p = 0.000 < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient value of 0.662 indicating a positive correlation, while adaptation got results (p = 0.021 < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.025 indicating positive correlation, for the spiritual level of prisoners obtained results (p = 0.017 > 0.05) where the correlation coefficient value of 140 indicates a negative correlation.

Conclusion: there is a relationship between family social support and stress, there is a relationship between adaptation and stress, and there is no relationship between spiritual level and stress in inmates at Correctional Institution Class IIA Wirogunan Yogyakarta. The most influential factor is family social support with stress on prisoners.
