PENGARUH TERAPI BEKAM BASAH TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI KLINIK MARI SEMBUH

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is the leading cause of death in the world. Hypertension is an increase in BP beyond normal, systole 140 mmHg and diastole 90 mmHg. Treatment of hypertension is divided into two ways, namely pharmacology and nonpharmacology. Pharmacology includes drugs such as Diuretics, ACEI, CCB etc, while nonpharmacology includes reflection therapy, meditation, acupuncture and wet cupping. Cupping is one of the complementary therapies used for disease management, the treatment technique uses glass, tube or bamboo facilities that are bent on the skin with the aim of withdrawing Qi / energy and xue / blood.

Objective: was to find out the effect of wet cupping therapy on the decrease in blood pressure in hypertensive patients

Method: The research design used is a quition of experimentation with one group pre test post test design. The number of samples used was 15 respondents, data collection was carried out using purposive sampling techniques. This research was conducted at the Mari Sembuh Clinic in Kecematan Ngaglik, Sleman, Yogyakarta.

Results: The statistical tests carried out are t test and wilcoxon test. From the test results, the P value of BP Sistol pre post = 0.000 and p value of BP Diastol pre post = 0.001 were obtained.

Conclusion: From this study shows there is an influence of cupping therapy on blood pressure reduction in people with hypertension both systolic and diastolic.
