HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN ORANG TUA DENGAN KECEMASAN REMAJA PUTRI DALAM MENGHADAPI PERUBAHAN FISIK PADA MASA PUBERTAS SISWI SMP NEGERI 1 DEPOK SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA

Background: Adolescence is a developmental period, which is the transition from childhood to early adulthood, which begins at the age of 10-12 years and ends at the age of 18-22 years. Adolescents experience very rapid physical changes, in this phase adolescents make efforts to be independent and seek their own identity and think more logically, abstractly, and ideally (Marliani,2016)

Research Objectives: Knowing the relationship between parental support and adolescent girls’anxiety in dealing with physical changes during puberty.

Methods: This research is quantitative with analytical survey research method with cross sectional design. The population of this research is the students of SMP Negeri 1 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta. The sampel in this study amounted to 53 people. The sampling technique of non-probability sampling is in the form of accidental sampling. The data analysis technique uses the product moment test.

Result: Parental support for adolescent girls with low anxiety was 60.4% (32 people). Anxiety for adolescent girls at SMP Negeri 1 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta is in the low category as much as 60.4% (32 people). This shows that there is a very low relationship with a significance value of 0.458 or (> 0.05). The correlation coefficient value is count – 0.104. The relationship pattern shows a negative sign, which means that the higher the parental support, the lower the anxiety experienced by young women.

Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between parental support and adolescent girls’anxiety in dealing with physical changes during puberty for 8 th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta.
