HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN MOTIVASI LANSIA MENGIKUTI KEGIATAN POSYANDU DI DUSUN GRUMBUL GEDE SELOMARTANI KALASAN SLEMAN

Background: The elderly population in Indonesia has experienced a twofold increase. The population census noted that the percentage of the elderly reached 9.92% or around 26.82 million people. The number of elderly people in Yogyakarta is (14.17%), in the Sleman Regency area of 140,444 people with the highest number of elderly people in the working area of the Kalasan Health Center 10,061 people. According to the WHO, the elderly is the most vulnerable age group due to weakened immune function. Age is one of the driving factors for the occurrence of a disease, so it is very necessary to monitor the health of the elderly. Health monitoring for the elderly can be done at the Posyandu Lansia (Integrated Community Health Service of Elderly).

Purpose: The purpose of the research is to know the related and closeness between family support and elderly motivation visited the Posyandu in Grumbul Gede Selomartani Kalasan Sleman.

Method: This research uses quantitative research, with cross-sectional approach. The sample of this research was 47 people with total sampling. This research uses the analysis of Spearman rank.

Result: family support shows a low category (51,1%), elderly motivation shows a low category (55,3%). There is a relationship between family support and motivation to participate in Posyandu activities in Grumbul Gede Selomartani Hamlet, Kalasan Sleman with ρ-value = 0,003 and the closeness of the relationship is in the same direction as the value of r = 0.420, so it can be said that if the family support received by the elderly is good, it will affect their motivation to participate in Posyandu activities in Grumbul Gede Selomartani Hamlet, Kalasan Sleman

Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and elderly motivation to participate in Posyandu activities in Grumbul Gede Selomartani Hamlet, Kalasan Sleman with the closeness of the relationship is in the same direction as the value of r = 0.420
