HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KONSEP DIRI LANSIA DI RW 01 DAN RW 03 PADUKUHAN SIDOKERTO PURWOMARTANI KALASAN

Background: The family is a basic shaper of self-concept because it can provide feelings of being able or incapable, feelings of acceptance or rejection and in the family the individual has the opportunity to identify his behavior and have an appropriate appreciation of goals, behaviors and values. Family support in the form of emotional support, informational support, instrumental/real support, and reward/assessment support. This family support is able to increase the spirit of the elderly facing their old age well so that they can form a self-concept consisting of self-identity, self-image, self-role, self-ideal, self-esteem.

Research Objectives: To determine family support with self-concept of the elderly in RW 01 and RW 03 Padukuhan Sidokerto Purwomartani Kalasan.

Methods: This type of research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach . The population in this study were the elderly living in RW 01 and RW 03 Padukuhan Sidokerto Purwomartani Kalasan. The technique used in sampling is stratified random sampling. Total population 102 people, sample 51 people. Data collection tools using a questionnaire and data analysis using the Spearman rank test.

Research Results: The results showed that family support with elderly self-concept obtained a significancy value (p= 0.000 ˂0.05 with a Correlation Coefficient of 0.673 which means that there is a relationship between family support and the self-concept of the elderly in RW 01 and RW 03 Padukuhan Sidokerto Purwomartani Kalasan and has a strong and unidirectional relationship.

Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and selfconcept of the elderly in RW 01 and RW 03 Padukuhan Sidokerto Purwomartani Kalasan. The better the family support, the better the selfconcept of the elderly.
