PENGARUH TERAPI GUIDED IMAGERY PADA PASIEN PENDERITA NYERI KRONIS DI RUMAH SAKIT PARU RESPIRA YOGYAKARTA

Background: Patients with lung mass problems in addition to experiencing shortness of breath also complain of chest pain. Pain management is carried out with relaxation actions, one of which is guided imagery. In the results of this study described on the chest pain scale, guided imagination was used because the patient was more focused and directed. In addition, it was also explained that the chest pain scale of 7-9 uses pharmacological therapy, or guided imagination cannot be carried out because the patient cannot focus on the imagination guided by the researcher so that the results are not effective. but someone with moderate pain who can still focus can show pain and can be treated with relaxation techniques or the use of guided imagination

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the differences in pain levels before and after the act of giving guided imagery relaxation techniques

Method: This paper uses a Quasy Experiment design using a one group pretest-posttest design, namely a research conducted with one group, one group is given treatment, then observed before and after. The sampling technique of this research is purposive sampling, where purposive sampling is a sampling technique by determining certain criteria. The sample of this study was 29 respondents with suspected lung mass at the Respira Lung Hospital. The instrument used was a pain level observation sheet using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Wilcoxon mathed-paired signed test.

Conclusion: There is an effect of guided imagery therapy on pain levels of chronic patients at Respira Hospital Yogyakarta with p value = 0.000
