HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU DENGAN KEBERHASILAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS DEPOK III KABUPATEN SLEMAN

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is a method of breastfeeding without the provision of fluids or solid food, starting as early as possible until the baby is 6 months old, except for medical treatment by administering drugs, vitamin and mineral supplements .Factors that influence the success of exclusive breastfeeding include maternal characteristics, namely education, knowledge, predisposing factors including knowledge, attitudes and interests, supporting factors include health service facilitiesfamily income, time availability, maternal health. Research objectives: Knowing the relationship between the level of knowledge of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding with the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Research methods: The method used in this research is quantitative research with a correlation study with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was mothers who had babies aged 6–12 months. The sampling technique used accidental sampling, the number of samples in this study were 53 people, data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. Results: Spearman Rank test results obtained p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means that Hα is accepted and H0 is rejected. Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and the success of exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Puskesmas Depok III, Sleman Regency.
